Thinking about it, i suppose a good PC rogue in classical dungeon exploration and then another and another ect would be one that doesn't punish you in a way you would't save scum it. its not that the game is changing, its that your build is changing and your viewing it diffrently.Īnother PC one i remembered is rogue legacy. you have a general knowledge of knowing EXACTLY whats gonna appear on every single floor, with very high accuracy. it might appear like that if you keep changing your skill trees (mind you thats intended) but it is no more 'rogue' then minecraft is. Rogue angband and ZAngband are all really old, and its kinds unfair to count them to todays standards, FTL doesn't have saving in runs, only a overall save file, and dungeons of dredmor is both not a rogue, and a prime example of why saving in danger is bad (however due to the way it is its completly understandable, afterall its pretty clear they weren't trying to make a rogue)ĭoD was meant to just be 10 massive ass floors, and you know exactly what to expect on every floor, furthermore its not a rogue as things are not generated randomly (and mods make this really obvious).
